Annotated bibliographies have three main purposes. 1) They provide an overview of existing

research that is relevant for your paper and allow you make an original contribution to existing

knowledge . 2) They provide a summary of important ideas and terms and assess the quality of

each source. 3) They clearly summarize how each of the sources is useful for your paper. Your

annotated bibliographies will consist of two parts.

Part IEach annotation should include: research question, methods (population, procedure,

instruments), key findings, implications and limitations. You should summarize each source,

evaluate the reliability and validity of the method. Discuss how useful each source is to your

paper, e.g. will you refer to it’s method or to an idea in the introduction. Annotations should not

exceed 200 words (1 page) each.

For this paper, Paper 2, you must submit an annotated bibliography for 4 of your sources.Part II

Prepare a brief overview of the articles you have read that describes similarities and differences

across articles in methodology and findings. Discuss the key issues that require further study.

This discussion should guide the rationale for the study that you propose to do. The overview

should not exceed 400 words (2 pages).
